On Saturday, October 18, people across the country will take to the streets for NO KINGS, a peaceful national day of action against the authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration.
Since June, this administration has doubled down on cruelty and abuse—targeting immigrant families, detaining people without warrants, threatening the integrity of elections, gutting health care, education, and environmental protections, ignoring gun violence, rigging maps to silence voters, and showering billionaire allies with giveaways while ordinary families struggle.
We’re standing together to remind them: America has no kings.
This is our moment to show up—whether you’ve been fighting for years or you’re just fed up and ready to act. Together, we can build a massive, visible, nonviolent rejection of corruption and power grabs.
How to Join In
Most SHL leadership will be away at the Freedom From Religion Foundation Convention in Myrtle Beach that weekend, so we won’t be posting the event to our Meetup page like we normally do. Nevertheless, we encourage everyone that is available to participate in a local action near you.
We’re highlighting two events within reach of the Lowcountry:
Charleston (North Charleston):
Hosted by 50501 Charleston, sign-waving from 1–3 pm at Ashley Phosphate Road near the Dorchester Road intersection. The protest will be across from Dollar Tree (5160 Ashley Phosphate Rd) with plenty of parking available.Columbia:
Indivisible No Kings Rally at the South Carolina State House, also from 1–3 pm.
If neither of these are close to you, check the national NO KINGS listings—or even host your own. Find an action or get the toolkit here.
💪 The power is in your hands. On October 18, let’s stand up for democracy, freedom, and justice—and show that the people, not the powerful, have the final say.

We the people say #NoKings in America!
