Our humanist commitment for August is humility, “I will be aware of my strengths and weaknesses, and appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of others.” We will be piloting the Freethinkers’ Forum, a new discussion group which we hope to make a monthly activity. For our member gathering Coleman Watts, creator of the Think This Through YouTube channel, will be giving a presentation titled, “Confessions of a Former Conspiracy Theorist.” The SHL book club will be reading Chris Hayes’ recent book The Sirens' Call: How Attention Became the World's Most Endangered Resource.
